Borislav Stefanovic warned that forceful removal of barricades in northern Kosovo would jeopardies the security in that part of the province. The head of Belgrade's negotiating team in the dialogue with Pristina reiterated that problems can be solved by peaceful means. KFOR, EULEX urged to refrain from use of force "Any forceful attempt at removing the barricades would be very negative for the security in that part of the province and it would jeopardies the already instable situation, he said and added that Serbian authorities are constantly requesting from KFOR and EULEX to refrain from using any additional unilateral moves and are also calling on the Serbs in northern Kosovo to remain calm. This is the only way to solve problems to our benefit," Stefanovic said in an interview for the Tuesday edition of the Belgrade-based daily Blic. Noting that it is "obvious" that the EU does not wish to irritate Pristina, i.e., the Kosovo Albanian authorities, Stefanovic added that representatives of the Serban government and EU mediator in the dialogue Robert Cooper very thoroughly discussed the potential solutions for the crossings in northern Kosovo. According to the Serbian official, another topic of talks with Cooper referred to the issue of electricity supply and Pristina's participation in regional forums. He said that there is a possibility to solve the issue of Jarnje and Brnjak but everyone would have to be patient and make use of the narrow leeway which can be perceived. Stefanovic and Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic should meet with heads of local self-governments in northern Kosovo and Chief of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Radenko Nedeljkovic.
